After Seeing James Comey Adore T-Swift, It’s Difficult to Imagine He Was Ever Viewed as Credible

James Comey’s Swift Confession

James Comey’s reputation seems to have taken an irreparable hit. In a video shared on social media over the weekend, the former FBI director openly expressed his admiration for Taylor Swift and her music, revealing how she inspires him as a staunch critic of Donald Trump.

In the five-minute video, Comey reflects on how Swift motivates him. He recalls attending a Taylor Swift concert in Hartford, CT, about 14 years ago, where she sang a song addressing significant themes.

Comey stated, “I am not advocating for weakness. We must stand up against bullies and defend our beliefs, but it’s essential to do so without mirroring their behavior. That’s part of why I think of Taylor Swift.” He emphasized Swift’s clear stance on Trump, noting how she warned voters against electing him and lamenting the consequences of that choice. He contrasted her current success with the president’s disparaging comments about her, highlighting that she continues to thrive, create exceptional music, and encourages others not to let negativity take control.

While Comey might soon face scrutiny over his role in the investigation into Trump, this particular video might overshadow those concerns. His enthusiasm for Swift feels especially cringe-worthy.

For the men out there who enjoy Taylor Swift’s music, perhaps it’s best to keep that to yourself. When it comes to Swift, a “don’t ask, don’t tell” approach may be wise. Enjoy her songs quietly, without openly quoting lyrics in front of your partner. Just don’t go public like Comey did.
