AG Pam Bondi issues stark warning for Illinois, NY governors to ‘comply’ with federal law

Attorney General Pam Bondy said President Donald Trump's administration will “find illegal foreigners” and “defeated them in Illinois, New York and other states.”

“You'll either better adhere to federal law or be the next,” Bondy said Friday when he appeared in the “American Report” with co-anchors Sandra Smith and John Roberts.

Smith asked if Bondi had started or prioritized some of her first goals since being sworn into her position on February 5th.

Bondi initially described the Department of Justice as returning to her “major key function” of “fighting violent crime” was her number one priority.

However, she also said government waste and drug cartels are at the top of her list.

Bondi was questioned about New York Gov. Kathy Hochul's opposition to a lawsuit against the Trump administration against her state for failing to comply with federal immigration laws.

The Blue State leader declared in an official statement on February 12th.

Bondi's response was direct.

“Bring it,” she said in her “American Report.”

“They protect illegal aliens more than American citizens – they won't happen,” she added.

“And you can better comply with federal laws, or you'll be next.”

Hochul and New York are not the only blue fortresses that receive numerous reminders because they do not embrace immigrants from deportation operations.

Illinois Governor J.B. Pretzker remained rebellious, blowing up Bondi and the Trump administration for their policies.

“Unlike Donald Trump, we follow Illinois law,” Pretzker publicly told Chicago on Feb. 7.

“Donald Trump doesn't know what he's against when he attacks Illinois.”

The Attorney General has argued that the law is on the side of the Trump administration.

“We spoke loudly and clearly,” replied Bondi.

“We're tired of Americans being murdered and these states protecting illegal aliens.”

“Talking to the family of Laken Riley and the families of these other young women and men who were murdered by illegal aliens. See what you're thinking when you want to protect them.”

Bondi also responded to MSNBC headlines that scrutinized her appearance on CPAC 2025.

She defended the appearance as a “great time” and found it “comic” what critics called it a “partisan move.”

“I know what we're talking about,” Bondy said.

“Turning violent crimes off the streets and fighting the fentanyl epidemic… what about that party?”
