Ahmad Hardy from Missouri is in stable condition after being shot at a concert in Mississippi over the weekend.

Missouri announced the tragic news that running back Ahmad Hardy was shot and killed during a concert in Mississippi over the weekend. The SEC’s top rusher for 2025 is currently reported to be in stable condition after the shooting, but it’s uncertain when he might return.

On Monday morning, the athletic department issued a statement about the incident and Hardy’s condition. They stated, “Mizzou football student-athlete Ahmad Hardy was the victim of a shooting at a Mississippi State concert early Sunday morning and suffered a gunshot wound. Ahmad underwent surgery in Mississippi on Sunday and is in stable condition. Ahmad is deeply loved by his teammates, coaches, friends, family and fans. We continue to stand by him and his family and offer our love, prayers, strength and support as they navigate this difficult time.”

The statement continued, noting that his timetable for returning to football is currently unknown. Mizzou Athletics plans to provide updates on his status as they become available.

No additional details regarding the shooting have been released at this time. Hardy had recently turned down offers from other schools to remain in Columbia and pursue his legacy with the Tigers.

The situation surrounding Hardy remains uncertain, and the Missouri State Athletic Federation will keep fans updated as needed.
