They stated, “Mizzou football student-athlete Ahmad Hardy was the victim of a shooting at a Mississippi State concert early Sunday morning and suffered a gunshot wound. Ahmad underwent surgery in Mississippi on Sunday and is in stable condition. Ahmad is deeply loved by his teammates, coaches, friends, family and fans. We continue to stand by him and his family and offer our love, prayers, strength and support as they navigate this difficult time.”
The statement continued, noting that his timetable for returning to football is currently unknown. Mizzou Athletics plans to provide updates on his status as they become available.
