Plenty Richmond Farm is designed to produce more than 4 million pounds of strawberries annually in less than one acre. This incredible yield is achieved through state-of-the-art vertical farming technology that grows strawberries in 30-foot-tall towers in a precisely controlled environment of less than 40,000 square feet.

Sustainability at the core
One of the most notable aspects of this new farm is its environmental impact. The farm uses 97% less land than traditional farming and consumes up to 90% less water. It also allows us to produce strawberries without the unpredictable influence of Mother Nature, allowing us to produce seasonal flavors all year round.

The technology behind the berry
The success of this vertical farm is built on years of research and development. Plenty spent 10 years designing a patent-pending modular growing system that is flexible enough to support a variety of crops, including strawberries. The farm leverages AI to analyze more than 10 million data points daily across 12 grow rooms to optimize the environment for each stage of plant growth.
This farm represents a unique collaboration between Plenty's advanced technology and Driscoll's century-long berry expertise and proprietary genetics. This partnership aims to provide consistently high quality strawberries throughout the year, regardless of seasonal constraints. The first Driscoll's strawberries grown at the farm are expected to be available to consumers in early 2025.
