Instead of ignoring this powerful tool, make this the year you embrace AI. It's easier and more convenient than you think.
Let's start with the basics
“So where can I find ChatGPT?” Get it in your email every day. use on the web or download iPhone or android.
The free tier works for most people. Pay $20/month for ChatGPT Plus. It's worth it to me because I get access to better features and faster response times. Start for free. If you rely on your favorite AI tool on a regular basis, consider upgrading. It's worth considering.

ChatGPT is not the only option, but it is my preference (at least for now) and the most popular. You can also try Google Gemini, perplexed and Claude.
The workflow for all of these is the same. Think of it like Google. Instead of typing in a single search term and scrolling through results, “talk” to the bot to get exactly the output you want.
As with any tool, we need to use AI wisely and triple-check its results. Please believe me. You don't want to end up like the lawyer who used AI to create a court document, only to have the judge point out obvious mistakes.

You've heard of prompts, right?
This is the text, questions, or commands you provide to guide the AI system's response or action. This is an instruction about what you want, so the better the prompt, the more useful and accurate the response will be.
“Priming” is an internal term that means telling the chatbot exactly what you want. In ChatGPT and others, the more constraints you give, the better the answer you get. Examples: “Limit your answer to 250 words”, “Please give me a bulleted list”, “Format the results as a table”, “Create a bar chart using this data” ”.
Remember, AI cannot read your mind. It only knows what you said. use “do” and “please don'tType “” at the prompt to get the desired result. Let's say you're cooking for friends, some of whom have allergies. “Create a recipe for 6 people. do Includes protein, fruits, vegetables, and carbohydrates. Please stop Contains dairy products, shellfish, and nuts. ”

7 tips to make your life easier
Make your goals actionable: “I have goals until 2025. [fill in the blank]. Can you help me make it SMART?'' (SMART is an acronym for Specific, Measurable, Assignable, Realistic, and Time-owned.) Maybe you're not there yet. Try it like this: [fill in the blank]But I feel overwhelmed and don't know where to start. Could you break it down into more manageable tasks?”
“Give me 10 more examples”: This is a prompt I always use in ChatGPT to make chatbots a better brainstorming companion. Some of those “ideas” may be downright terrible, but they may spark something creative in your brain.
“How can we improve this?” Add anything you've written, whether it's a blog post, travel plans, resume, or a heartfelt email. Like a personal editor at your fingertips, this prompt works wonders for honing your work and pointing out areas for improvement.
Do this with your family videos before it's too late
Your own free assistant: Let's say your meeting notes are a mess. You'll spend 15 minutes manually crafting an email that's just right for your boss and your team. Instead, open up a chatbot and say, “Please turn these notes into professional and friendly emails and send them to your team.” Finally, paste the memo and you're done. Pro tip: Ask the selected bot, “Do you need more details?” to fill in the missing information.
Shortcut your inbox. If you receive a very long email, open any AI chatbot and say, “Please summarize this email. Tell me what I need to do. Then write a thoughtful reply. ”. Paste your email and let the AI do its magic.
Want to get in shape? Ask AI to create a custom fitness plan for you. Try this: “Create a 30-day fitness plan for fat loss and muscle gain based on your weight. [male/female] beginner [your age]” or be specific: “Create a 4-week fitness plan to help you run your first mile.” Without breaking a sweat.

Did your spouse forget to load the dishes again? Instead of sending angry texts, let AI intervene. Ask your favorite chatbot to reframe your frustration into something a little more constructive. I love this prompt. “Please make this message sound more friendly.”
Don't forget your privacy
It's easy to think of a bot as a trusted ally, especially if it keeps sending you helpful answers all day long. But that's definitely not the case. This is a data collection tool like any other tool.
Be wise with what you say. Never enter passwords, sensitive financial data, or sensitive work or business information. My rule of thumb: Don't tell the chatbot anything you don't want made public.
With a free ChatGPT or Perplexity account, you can turn off the memory feature in the app settings that remembers everything you type. For Google Gemini, you need a paid account to do this.
