Claims of Awareness in Minnesota Fraud Scheme

A woman from Minnesota, who was convicted in a major fraud case, has made some serious allegations. During an interrogation in jail, she stated that Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison were aware of extensive fraud long before federal authorities stepped in.

Amy Bock, the former president of a nonprofit called Feeding Our Future, expressed her concerns in an interview from Sherburne County Jail. She asserted that state officials continued to approve and pay claims despite raised suspicions about fraudulent activities. Bock claimed that the state’s agency was supposed to monitor claims but failed to investigate suspicious companies even after she alerted them.

“Honestly, I believe Mr. Keith Ellison and Governor Walz need to be held accountable. There needs to be an investigation. If they weren’t aware, that’s concerning,” she told Fox News.

Bock further added, “I have to believe that the governor’s office and Mr. Ellison’s office knew about this. They say they were involved in assisting the FBI. They say they were informed, but apparently they couldn’t do anything because they were scared of me.”

In response to her claims, a spokesperson for Ellison dismissed Bock’s statements, questioning her credibility given her prison sentence. “She is a liar, a fraud, and a manipulator of the highest order, who has never acknowledged or accepted her guilt,” the spokesperson remarked, adding that Bock was attempting to shift blame instead of taking responsibility for her actions.

Federal prosecutors have revealed that the fraud scheme involved over $250 million in misappropriated taxpayer funds intended for children’s nourishment during the COVID-19 pandemic. They uncovered that fake restaurants were established to claim fraudulent refunds.

Moreover, the House Oversight Committee highlighted that the Department of Justice has indicted 98 individuals related to fraud cases in Minnesota, with 85 being of Somali descent. So far, 64 defendants have been convicted. Representative James Comer indicated that the Justice Department has issued over 1,750 subpoenas and conducted extensive investigations.

Comer expressed grave concerns about the extent of the fraud, stating, “The scope and depth of this fraud is breathtaking. Governor Tim Walz, Attorney General Keith Ellison, and Minnesota’s Democratic leadership are either asleep at the wheel or complicit in these crimes.” He criticized them for failing to protect Minnesotans and allowing millions of taxpayer dollars to be swindled.

Walz’s office has yet to respond to requests for comment.
