Aimee Lou Wood makes a comment on the 'SNL' teeth controversy before hosting 'SNL UK'

Amy Lou Wood showcased her comedic chops as she poked fun at her recent dental mishap on Saturday while hosting SNL UK.

In a teaser clip for the upcoming episode, the 32-year-old actress from The White Lotus, which premiered Wednesday, approached a group of performers who were covering their mouths.

“I’m excited to get going, especially after the dental ‘incident’ in America. A fresh start feels right,” she remarked in the video.

“Wait a second, why is everyone hiding their mouths?” she quipped. “Do you all have dentures?”

The group quickly assured her it was nothing personal, worried that they might upset her. But Wood wasn’t having it.

“Is this some elaborate plan to embarrass me? I thought things would be different on SNL UK,” she responded.

In the end, one of the performers revealed that they all sported mustaches to mimic co-star Paddy Young, who has gained notoriety for his facial hair.

They wrapped the sketch by giving Wood a mustache of her own and sharing a hug.

Fans might recall a sketch from an April 2025 episode where comedian Sarah Sherman impersonated Wood’s character from The White Lotus, offering an exaggerated portrayal that drew some ire from Wood.

In that skit, Sherman mimicked Wood’s character Chelsea, using oversized fake teeth and a strong British accent.

Wood took to her Instagram Stories the following morning to express her frustration about the sketch, calling it “mean” and “not funny.”

“I thought the SNL thing was harsh and unfunny. (I might delete this later since it felt like justice),” she shared. “It’s disappointing because I had genuinely enjoyed watching it a few weeks back.”

“It’s okay to get upset. Sure, that’s part of the show. But can’t there be a more clever, nuanced, and less tacky way to do things?” she mused.

Wood later mentioned that SNL offered her an apology regarding the sketch. Still, a source suggested that there wasn’t a formal apology issued by the show.
