Small Plane Crash in Fort Worth, Texas
On Sunday, a small plane crashed into several unidentified structures in Fort Worth, Texas, as confirmed by local authorities.
The incident took place around 1:30 p.m. near Hicks Field, located in the 12000 block of North Saginaw Boulevard. Upon impact, several semi-trucks caught fire. Reports from the Fort Worth Fire Department indicated multiple vehicles were involved.
A representative from the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office stated, “We can confirm that a small aircraft has collided with an unknown structure.”
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NSTB) have been alerted regarding the crash. An FAA spokesperson mentioned they will lead the investigation, while local authorities assist with traffic management around the scene.
As of now, it’s unclear how many people were on board the aircraft and whether there were any injuries. During the incident, both northbound and southbound lanes of Business Flight 287 were closed off.
Hicks Field is described as a private, member-owned airfield situated north of Fort Worth, according to its website.
At this time, the Fort Worth Fire Department, along with other local agencies, has not commented further on the situation.
