Aircraft makes urgent landing at Riviera Country Club

A plane found itself making a rather unexpected landing on a well-known golf course this past Friday after experiencing engine troubles.

This single-engine aircraft made an emergency stop at the Riviera Country Club, thankfully without any reported injuries. Notably, there were three people on board when it touched down around 1 PM.

According to reports from Traffic News Los Angeles, the pilot managed to navigate the aircraft skillfully to ensure a safe landing on the course.

The situation is currently under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).

This golf course, by the way, is set to host the Olympic Games in 2028, in addition to having welcomed events like the US Open and two PGA Championships in past years.

Golf seems to be facing a bit of confusion on the course lately, with annual Genesis invitations traditionally hosted by Tiger Woods. This year, the event took place at Torrey Pines due to wildfire damage at the Riviera earlier.

The Riviera Country Club has a long history since it opened its doors in 1926 and is also scheduled to host the US Open in 2031.
