Alabama A&M football player Medrick Barnett died from complications from head trauma after a head-on collision with another player during an Oct. 26 game.
Burnett, 20, was taken from the front during a game against Alabama State and was taken to the hospital. A month after the fight, he said: died From his injury daily mail Reported.
Shortly after being admitted to the hospital, Barnett was reported to be in stable condition. The school released a statement mourning the loss of the redshirt freshman.
“Today, our Bulldog family is saddened by the loss of Medrick Barnett Jr.,” Alabama A&M Athletics Director Dr. Paul A. Bryant said in a statement. “Medrick was more than just an extraordinary athlete. He was a remarkable young man whose positive energy, leadership and compassion left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.”
“Words cannot adequately express our sadness, and we are humbled by the strength of his family who stood by his side throughout this unimaginable ordeal,” the statement added.
