California Mother Pleads Not Guilty to Murdering Daughter

Ashley Buzzard has entered a not guilty plea regarding the first-degree murder of her nine-year-old daughter, Melody. Authorities have revealed that they crossed borders to avoid being detected and eventually discovered Melody’s remains in Utah.

In a separate case, a mother from Alabama has been charged with murder after her two-year-old daughter was found suffocated. Reports indicate that Sierra Shea Hadaway, 22, allegedly left Madilyn Hadaway bound and face down on a bed for over 12 hours. The child was discovered dead on June 12 in Lanett, Alabama. The second suspect, Christian Miles Starkey, tragically took his own life two days later.

Authorities suspect asphyxiation as the cause of Madilyn’s death, but further details haven’t been disclosed. The connection between Starkey and the child remains unclear.

Madilyn’s obituary referred to her as a “precious angel,” noting how her time, though brief, brought immense love and happiness to those around her. “She had a special way of bringing joy to those around her,” it stated, highlighting her bright smile and curious spirit.

Sierra Hadaway has been remanded to custody at the Chambers County Detention Center without the possibility of bail.
