A woman from Dothan, Alabama, who reported a burglary at her home earlier this month was arrested for fear of the weather, police said.

On January 9, Dothan Police received a 911 call from 39-year-old Kelly Carol Ginievra reporting someone breaking into her home.

When officers arrived, they determined that no robbery had occurred at the home.

After speaking with Ginievra and conducting an investigation, officers learned that the caller had falsely reported a crime, and officers were immediately dispatched to her home.

Officers also discovered that the reason Ginievra wanted to arrive so early was because he feared severe weather that day, police reported.

Ginievra was eventually arrested and charged with making a false report to law enforcement.

A woman who tried to leave her child with her date left the date alone.
