An Alabama woman is behind bars after being on the run for 18 years.

Authorities arrested Linda Adams Cartee, 58, on 88 outstanding warrants issued in 2006 and 2007 for failing to appear in court for allegedly writing “worthless checks.”

According to the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, Cartee, a Trinity resident, was taken into custody Tuesday morning on the warrant.

Trinity is in the Decatur metropolitan area and is about 40 miles from Huntsville.

Officials with the Morgan County Sheriff's Office told Fox News Digital that their fugitive task force received a tip about a wanted individual.

The arrest warrants included 39 counts of issuing worthless checks and 49 counts of failing to issue worthless checks, according to Morgan County Sheriff's Office officials.

An Oregon man who allegedly fantasized about a relationship with University of Connecticut student Paige Bakkers has been charged with stalking and harassment.

Cartee was arrested and booked into the Morgan County Jail, where he is being held on $133,900 bail.
