Alan Dershowitz claims Epstein had information on just one individual but had no connections to the CIA or Mossad and was not a pedophile.

Alan Dershowitz, who previously represented Jeffrey Epstein, recently discussed the late sex offender in an interview. He emphasized that Epstein had a significant issue with “one person” specifically and denied any connections to either Mossad or the CIA.

Dershowitz, now 87, was part of the legal team that secured a controversial non-prosecution agreement for Epstein in 2006, asserting that many allegations against Epstein were accepted as truth despite lacking evidence.

“I regret defending him,” Dershowitz mentioned during a chat with Miranda Devine, noting that he wishes he’d never met Epstein, whom he described as a “horribly evil man.” However, he cautioned that the details of many of Epstein’s crimes have been exaggerated.

He claimed that most women who allege victimhood either accepted payments for massages, acted as recruiters, or fabricated their encounters with Epstein. “There are real victims,” he added, underscoring a complex narrative around the accusations.

One of the theories surrounding Epstein’s actions suggests he was involved in a sex-related blackmail operation potentially supported by intelligence agencies like the CIA and Mossad. Dershowitz challenged this notion.

On the topic of espionage connections, he stated, “We know for a fact that that is not the case.” He recounted that Epstein had told him, “If you have ties to the intelligence community, you’ll get a better deal,” to which Epstein had replied that he had no such connections.

Dershowitz asserted he had validated this information with Mossad, claiming there was no relationship with the CIA either. This theory gained traction from a 2018 article that cited anonymous sources claiming former federal prosecutor Alexander Acosta was advised to back off from prosecuting due to Epstein’s supposed connections to the intelligence community.

Later, Acosta publicly expressed his objections during a press conference but privately informed the DOJ that he was unaware of any media claims characterizing Epstein as an “intelligence asset.”

Dershowitz also suggested that Epstein likely committed suicide in his cell because he was self-indulgent and underestimated the notion of running a major extortion operation. “I don’t think he was truly threatening anyone,” he reflected, suggesting that Epstein gathered information more for self-preservation rather than malice.

Dershowitz portrayed Epstein as having said that he bore no ill will towards Donald Trump, calling out only “one person” as a notable figure in Epstein’s concerns. Interestingly, he described that person as “not a politician” but just a “celebrity.”

In his defense of Epstein, he dismissed claims of pedophilia, clarifying that Epstein was not drawn to prepubescent individuals but was rather interested in teenagers aged 16 to 18, which he admitted was also problematic. He further stated that he did not believe human trafficking occurred in the way many suggest, insisting that Epstein simply facilitated paid massages for young people.

Dershowitz faced accusations regarding his past association with Epstein, particularly from Virginia Giuffre, who initially claimed Epstein had trafficked her to him. However, she later retracted her statements, stating in court documents that she might have identified Dershowitz incorrectly.

“I want to see the full truth about Epstein emerge,” he said, acknowledging the gravity of Epstein’s actions but also suggesting that the public perception might not fully align with reality.
