ALARM BELLS RING: MoveOn Sounds the Alarm on Serious Issues Within the Democratic Party’s Ranks

The liberal group Moveon cautioned Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer and House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries about the “deep issues” with their base regarding Democrats’ response to President Trump.

It was reported that the group sent letters to the two leaders, both from New York, but the parties were “inactive” in Congress.

The memo showcases the findings of a survey of Moveon members, highlighting the challenges Democrats face from progressive supporters.

The survey revealed that 78% of participants felt that Congressional Democrats were not completely committed to opposing Trump, while 49% stated that the party’s inadequate response to Trump would not encourage them to volunteer or contribute to Democratic efforts.

The letter warned that if the inaction continues, grassroots volunteers and donors will stop supporting Democrats.

“It’s not normal about this moment,” the letter argues that Democrats must “meet the threats posed to our society by President Trump, his administration, and unelected billionaire Elon Musk.

“It’s not an exaggeration to say that life will be destroyed due to destruction, including Medicaid, Social Security, cancer research funding, and the USAID program for children and families.”

The group called for collective efforts to “challenge rampaging corruption and alleviate harm as much as possible to Americans, our rights and our freedoms.”

“We should tell people what President Trump and his enablers are doing in people’s lives on all available platforms. This includes engaging with the very effective right-wing digital ecosystem. But outside the grass, we need messengers who can cut through the noise,” the letter said.

The group has stated that some Democrats have said Trump is “brave and honest,” and encourage the party to introduce a “fresh voice.”

“We will promote new members of Congress and introduce some fresh voices to the party. A new generation of candid, charming, authentic, friendly counselors are already showing young and liberated people that a better future is possible,” the group wrote.

Moveon further stated that its members would not “go quietly into the night” and were “ready to work with the people they are with.”

I’ll hand over the torch another grassroots democratic group that called for former President Biden to step down in the 2024 presidential election, has called for Schumer (D-N.Y.) to step down as minority leader.

The two groups are part of a chorus of rage within Democrats after Schumer and other Democrats voted for Republican senators to advance the House GOP spending bill.
