Hollywood star Alec Baldwin was indicted by a New Mexico grand jury on Friday for his role in a fatal shooting and could face up to 18 months in prison. rust Filmed from 2021.
Alec Baldwin has been charged with manslaughter in the death of the film's cinematographer, Halina Hutchins. The actor maintains his innocence, saying he did not know the prop gun he was holding contained live ammunition. He also claims the gun unintentionally went off even though he did not pull the trigger.
The grand jury heard evidence presented by special prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis. If convicted of manslaughter, Baldwin could be sentenced to up to 18 months in prison.

Friday's indictment comes as New Mexico prosecutors reopened the case against Baldwin after dropping the charges last year.
The decision to reinstate the case was made late last year, with prosecutors saying an “extensive” investigation conducted in recent months had “uncovered additional facts.”

Her job included overseeing firearms and ammunition for production. Prosecutors will likely try to explain how the live ammunition got into the prop gun Baldwin was carrying.
