The future Timberwolves owner and former baseball star was surprised by his 19-year-old daughter Natasha’s surprise appearance at Sunday’s playoff game against the Mavericks, much to A-Rod’s delight.
A video posted to Rodriguez’s Instagram account showed the heartwarming moment his younger daughter Ella, 16, distracted her father by pointing at something on the video board above as Natasha walked up to them from their courtside seats.
Rodriguez’s jaw nearly dropped to the floor when he looked over to see his daughter there, and the two shared an affectionate embrace as their stunned father still looked in disbelief.
Natasha was also dancing around with joy and smiling broadly, clearly having managed to surprise her father successfully.
The video ends with Rodriguez kissing his daughter on the forehead and her running off to hug her sister.
“I couldn’t believe it! Ella and @thenatasharodriguez you two have truly won me over,” Rodriguez captioned the Instagram post.
Ella and Natasha are Rodriguez’s daughters with his ex-wife, Cynthia Scurtis, from whom he divorced in 2008.
Rodriguez is attempting to buy the Timberwolves with business partner Marc Roar and has been frequently spotted at Timberwolves games during the postseason.
After Minnesota beat the Nuggets to advance to the Western Conference finals, a video of Rodriguez and Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards went viral.
The two were spotted showing off a special handshake they had created.
Rodriguez seemed to be enjoying his victory so much that he shouted “Let’s go!” from the sidelines.
