Political Royal Wedding Amid Global Turmoil

A week filled with riots, political assassinations, and missile exchanges linked to the Israeli-Iran war didn’t overshadow what some are calling the “political royal wedding.” This event, drawing connections between major donors and the Democratic establishment, took place over the weekend.

Alex Soros, son of prominent Democratic donor George Soros, tied the knot with Huma Abedin, a long-time aide to Hillary Clinton and the ex-wife of former Congressman Anthony Weiner.

The New York Times reported that the wedding ceremony, held at Soros’s estate in Watermill, New York, attracted considerable media attention and featured a guest list filled with influential figures. Among them were Bill and Hillary Clinton, former Vice President Kamala Harris with husband Doug Emhoff, Senator Chuck Schumer, and New York’s Democratic minority leader Hakim Jeffries. Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi was present too, along with celebrities like Nicky Hilton Rothschild and notable cultural figures, including Vogue Editor Anna Wintour. The guest list even included foreign dignitaries like Albanian Prime Minister Eddie Rama.

Entertainment came from a performance by a member of Boys II Men, while guests enjoyed a meal that featured dishes such as truffle agnolotti and grilled shrimp.

Even liberal media seemed to overlook the recent tragic events this week, which included Minnesota lawmakers being shot and escalating tensions between Israel and Iran. It stood in stark contrast to the celebration of the couple.

According to Breitbart News, the younger Soros has recently taken up leadership within his father’s Open Society Foundations, known for contributing over $32 billion toward both domestic and international initiatives.

The era described him as “one of the most intriguing figures in the donor landscape.” However, as noted in New York Magazine, he reportedly prefers social media and promotional appearances—thanks to his connections—over the more discreet approach of his father.

His relationship with Abedin, 49, has been subject to intense media scrutiny, largely due to the controversies surrounding her ex-husband, Anthony Weiner, who faced multiple scandals before their 2016 separation.

In contrast to the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, the ceremony featured a smaller gathering on Friday, embracing unity between their respective religions. Sources indicated that both a Rabbi and an Imam participated, signifying respect for Abedin’s Muslim faith and Soros’s Jewish heritage, as reported in The era.
