Alex Soros Commends Gavin Newsom for Criticizing Trump at Davos

Alex Soros, the son of influential billionaire activist George Soros, has expressed admiration for California Governor Gavin Newsom’s comments directed at President Donald Trump during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Soros shared a photo alongside Newsom at the event, stating, “It’s wonderful to reconnect with my friend Gavin Newsom, the true highlight of the 2026 World Economic Forum. I’m really glad he’s here to challenge world leaders who seem to believe that appeasement will work with Trump.”

He further remarked, “That’s just not how it goes. It only encourages him to be even more disruptive and damaging. World leaders could learn a lot from Newsom’s approach. Now is the moment to remain strong, united, and resolute. Otherwise, it might be too late.”

According to Breitbart News, Newsom criticized world leaders at the World Economic Forum for failing to confront Trump.

A reporter inquired about what message he would convey to Europeans worried about the Trump administration’s commentary on Greenland. Greenland has been under Danish rule since the 18th century, and Trump had mentioned to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre that the world would not be safe until the U.S. takes control of Greenland.

During his remarks at Davos, Newsom emphasized, “It’s time to take a stand. It’s time to be serious and stop this collusion. We need to be bold… I can’t tolerate this collusion anymore. People are just giving in. I should have brought more kneepads for all the world leaders.”

President Trump is scheduled to address the World Economic Forum on Wednesday.
