The head of the Algerian Olympic Committee has blamed the “Zionist lobby” for the ongoing controversy over an Algerian Olympic boxer who failed the IBA’s gender test.
According to Israel Hayom, Yassine Arab, president of the Algerian Olympic Committee, blamed Jews and their supporters for the controversy surrounding the boxer, who many say is male.
According to Russia’s TASS news agency, IBA president Umar Kremlyov explained the organisation’s decision to strip Taiwan’s Lin Yu-ting and Algeria’s Imane Kherif of eligibility to compete in the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in 2023. “DNA tests have revealed that several athletes tried to deceive their colleagues by posing as women. The tests proved that they have XY chromosomes. Such athletes have been excluded from competition,” Kremlyov said. Said.
Imane Kheriff is currently in the ring defeating yet another woman.
He is likely to win, which means he is guaranteed to get at least a silver medal.

Amid ongoing questions about boxer Imane Kherif’s gender, Yassin Arab went on the attack, saying: “The Zionist lobby wants to crush Kherif’s spirit, but she is strong. They don’t want to see an Arab or Muslim woman succeed in boxing.”
Prime Minister Khelif has responded defiantly to the controversy and even hit back at critics.
“I dedicate this medal to the world and to all Arab people and say ‘Long live Algeria!'” the boxer told reporters after winning his latest bout in Paris.
“I want to tell the whole world that I am a woman and that I will always remain a woman,” the Algerian added.

Meanwhile, the International Boxing Association reiterated that Kherif was disqualified from fighting last year after a sex test showed he had XY male chromosomes.
“DNA tests have revealed that several athletes tried to deceive their colleagues by pretending to be female. The tests proved that they have XY chromosomes. These athletes have been excluded from competition,” IBA president Umar Kremlyov said at a press conference last week.
“The tests revealed that both athletes did not meet the necessary eligibility criteria and had a competitive advantage over other female athletes,” the IBA added.

The group continued to point out that Lin Yuting did not appeal her disqualification, so “the decision is legally binding.” Kheriff appealed, but his case was withdrawn before it could be concluded, making the decision “legally binding.”
“Our committee has rigorously reviewed and approved the decisions taken during the World Championships. While the IBA remains committed to ensuring competitive fairness in all our events, we express concern at the inconsistent application of the qualification criteria by other sports organisations, including the body that oversees the Olympic Games. The IOC’s differing rules on these issues, in which the IBA has no involvement, raise serious questions about both the fairness of the competition and the safety of athletes,” the IBA wrote.
Meanwhile, the International Olympic Committee announced that Taiwanese boxers Lin Yu-ting and Khelif both claim to be women on their passports, and that this is enough for the IOC to allow them to compete in the women’s division.
