Jalen Brunson’s wife, Ali, showed her support for the Knicks during a pivotal moment in Game 6 against the Pistons, where he nailed a 3-pointer in the final 5.1 seconds, securing a 116-113 victory and wrapping up the series. “The screaming screams scream,” Ali shared on her Instagram story, capturing her excitement.
Brunson, recently honored as the NBA’s clutch player of the year, played splendidly at Little Caesars Arena, stepping up as a key player for the Knicks and ensuring they wouldn’t have to face a Game 7 at Madison Square Garden.
It’s unclear whether Ali attended the game in person. The couple tied the knot at the Ritz-Carlton in Chicago back in July 2023 and welcomed their daughter, Jordyn James Branson, a year later.
Brunson’s impressive performance included a total of 40 points that night, pacing all scorers. He also contributed four rebounds and seven assists, marking the fifth game in this series where he scored 30 points or more.
Alongside him, Knicks guard Mikal Bridges scored 25 points, helping to equalize the game with under a minute remaining, while OG Anunoby chipped in with 22 points. Brunson’s decisive shots prompted an enthusiastic “double van” shoutout from announcer Mike Breen.
Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau praised Brunson, stating, “When you need his best, he’s at his best. He did it all year long, and that’s what makes him special.”
With the Knicks positioned as the third seed, they’re set to face the second seed in the Eastern Conference semi-finals. Game 1 is scheduled for Monday night in Boston. Brunson remarked, “Next time I’ll be up against the defending champions, which I think, well—will definitely feel different. I don’t completely trust this team we just faced; they’re lacking in experience compared to the Celtics.”
