Ali Larter’s Fitness Journey for ‘Landman’
Ali Larter is quite dedicated to maintaining her fitness.
In a recent chat, the 49-year-old actress shared insights on how she’s preparing for her role in the series “Landman.” She emphasized her commitment, saying, “I’m telling you, I work really hard, okay? I’m not pretending I’m not working.” Getting up at 4:30 a.m. on Mondays, she starts her day with a 30-minute run. Although she tries to eat healthily—calling herself a “protein mama”—she also enjoys her food.
In “Landman,” she portrays Angela Norris, the ex-wife of a character played by Billy Bob Thornton, and describes her character as confident and charming.
Besides running, she incorporates a lot of strength training into her routine. “At the end of the day, you always have to walk in front of someone in a bathing suit, and that’s really difficult,” she mentioned. Larter believes the sexiest women are those who embrace their confidence, making it crucial for her to embody that with Angela.
Fans were taken aback when Larter recently posted a mirror selfie in a red bikini while filming Season 2.
In her post, she expressed that her motivation comes from playing a character who is comfortable in her skin. She also described how she geared up for a bikini scene on the show, which included waking up at 5:30 a.m., drinking celery juice and coffee, training, soaking her face in ice water, applying oil for a spray tan, and being on set by 7 a.m.
In a follow-up interview, she remarked that there was “no room for insecurity” when portraying Angela. “If I had allowed anxiety to creep in, I wouldn’t have been able to do that,” she reflected, adding that she believes in the essence of sexiness, which is not just about outer beauty.
When not working, Larter mentioned to People that she enjoys spending time relaxing with her family. She previously shared with another outlet about their decision to leave Los Angeles for a simpler lifestyle in Idaho. She noted that after the pandemic, many jobs shifted locations, and her husband was filming elsewhere while she was working on “Landman.” It was both a bold and exciting change for her family.
The second season of “Landman” is set to premiere on November 16 on Paramount+.
