Alice Stewart, veteran GOP advisor and CNN commentator, dies at 58
Alice Stewart, a veteran Republican adviser and CNN political commentator, has died. She was 58 years old.
Stewart’s body was found Saturday morning outside in the Bellevue area of northern Virginia, law enforcement officials said.
Police said there was no suspicion of criminal activity in Stewart’s death, and that it was likely a medical emergency.
Hours before her death, Stewart appeared on CNN’s “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer” on Friday evening.
Stewart began his career in Georgia as a local reporter and producer. She then worked as a news anchor in Little Rock, Arkansas.
From there, she became communications director for then-Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee’s 2008 presidential campaign.
Stewart also served as communications director for Republican presidential candidates, including former Minnesota Rep. Michelle Bachmann, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, and Sen. Ted Cruz.
Tributes poured in for the longtime Republican adviser.

Former Republican Congresswoman Barbara Comstock said“I am so sad to hear of the sudden passing of Alice Stewart. Alice was a smart, principled and talented role model for women in politics and media, and always a joy to be around. She will be missed. I will miss you.”
Kellyanne Conway – former advisor to former President Donald Trump – Said“Alice Stewart was a wonderful woman of faith, friend and colleague. She was the same person on and off the air: smart, witty, honest, kind, respectful and insightful. She took the time to help the next generation.” I loved and respected Alice and will miss her. ”
