Where’s Cher’s Iconic Wardrobe from Clueless?

The 1995 classic film “Clueless” is often celebrated as a fashion landmark.

With its unforgettable ’90s looks and Cher Horowitz’s futuristic closet app, the fashion from the film still resonates today.

But what happened to that wardrobe? Alicia Silverstone has revealed she actually parted ways with it.

In a recent interview, she mentioned, “Before Clueless, I was just a T-shirt and jeans girl. Fashion didn’t really interest me.”

After filming, she initially hoped to keep some of the character’s iconic clothes.

“Once I finished filming, I thought, ‘Oh, I want these clothes, I’ll wear them,’ but that was a bit delusional. I’m not really that type of person. Who actually wears Mary Janes and high stockings all the time?”

Eventually, Silverstone decided to get rid of all her outfits because they just weren’t fitting into her life anymore. “I realized they didn’t serve a purpose, and, honestly, I was a bit foolish letting them go,” she admitted.

So, what about the costumes of her co-stars? Well, that remains unclear too.

The treasured pieces ended up with Gia Coppola, the granddaughter of director Francis Ford Coppola. Unfortunately, she also isn’t sure what became of them.

“Who knows what Gia did with them? She doesn’t even know where they are anymore, so they might be gone too,” Silverstone expressed with a sigh, lamenting the loss.

It’s a tragic tale that perhaps resonates with many ’90s kids who fondly remember those styles.

As for Silverstone, she’s gearing up to reprise her role as Cher in an upcoming sequel series for Peacock. Too bad her iconic wardrobe won’t be making a comeback with her.

From Cher’s striking red dress to that unforgettable yellow plaid ensemble, it would be nice to think whoever has these clothes truly appreciates their significance.
