All Elite Wrestling’s Upcoming Pay-Per-View Event
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is gearing up for its premier pay-per-view this Saturday. This event promises to showcase some of the biggest names in professional wrestling, all vying for championships, looking to resolve feuds, and aiming to establish their reputations before a large audience.
This upcoming show marks the fourth installment in AEW’s pay-per-view series and the third consecutive year it’s being hosted. The last two events took place at Wembley Stadium in London, attracting record-breaking crowds, especially for the 2023 event. AEW has really made a name for itself since its launch in 2018, positioning itself as a leading force in North American wrestling.
Set to take place at Globe Life Field in Arlington, home of Major League Baseball’s Texas Rangers, at least six championships will be contested during this event.
One major highlight includes the AEW World Championship match, where John Moxley will be defending his title against “Hangman” Adam Page. Moxley has held the championship since September, after overcoming Brian Danielson. As the leader of the Deathriders, Moxley not only focuses on his performance but also relies on his team’s support, including Marina Shafir, who is often seen with a briefcase crucial to his strategy.
Adam Page earned his shot at the title by winning the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, and he has battled various opponents like MJF, Swerve Strickland, and Jay White to regain his position. As a former champion, having won the title from Kenny Omega in 2021, Page is certainly familiar with the pressures of title contention.
Fans are eagerly anticipating this bout, especially since it will unfold as a Texas Death Match, heightening the stakes even further.
But the excitement doesn’t stop there; two women’s championship matches are also on the card. “Timeless” Tony Storm, fresh off reclaiming the AEW Women’s World Championship from Mariahmay, is about to face one of her most significant challenges yet in Mercedes Monet. This marks Storm’s fourth reign, but the struggle against Monet promises to be intense.
Mercedes Monet currently holds several titles, including the AEW TBS Championship, the Revpro’s British Women’s Championship, and more. Her victory in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament has secured her title opportunities and she’s been making waves in the wrestling scene.
Additionally, multiple other championship matches are expected to captivate audiences. For instance, Kenny Omega will be battling Kazuchika Okada to unify the Continental and International Championships. Meanwhile, Adam Cole will defend the TNT Championship against Kyle Fletcher, and the AEW Tag Team Championship will be on the line involving Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and others.
More matches are scheduled to heighten the competition, including one featuring Strickland and Will Ospreay against the younger Bucks, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson—each match carrying its own implications for future title opportunities.
In total, several pre-show matches are lined up as well, promising an action-packed day. FTR, consisting of Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood, will square off against the Outrunners, while a big eight-man tag match will take place, showcasing a range of talent.
The Zero Hour Show kicks off at 1 PM, with the main matches beginning at 3 PM. It looks to be quite an event packed with drama and high stakes in the ring.
