The Florida State University (FSU) shooting suspect is the son of a sheriff’s deputy and is a member of the law enforcement youth advisory board, police said Thursday afternoon.
Police have shown that the 20-year-old shooter’s mother claimed to be deputies for the Leon County Sheriff. He somehow accessed his mother’s firearm and used at least one of her guns in the attack. Police continue to see other firearms he has access to.
The suspicious shooter’s mother is the school’s resource officer.
Police stressed that he will be charged within the full scope of the law to make it clear that such behavior is not tolerated.
Breitbart News reported that the suspect was taken into custody about an hour after the shot occurred on Florida State University’s campus.
At a press conference Thursday afternoon, police showed that two people were killed as a result of the attack and that the deceased was not a student at FSU.
