Alleged Intruder Shot After Attacking Louisiana Homeowner

A suspected intruder attacked a homeowner in Mandeville, Louisiana on Monday, sending the homeowner to the hospital after being shot by someone who came to his aid.

The alleged intruder, Karejunius Smith, confronted the homeowner around 9 a.m. Smith reportedly attacked the homeowner during the confrontation, who then called the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office for help. Said wonderful.

WDSU I got it. Someone inside the home heard cries for help, pulled out a gun and came to the homeowner’s aid, police said.

The gunman shot and killed Smith, who was subsequently arrested and hospitalized.

Smith is facing charges including “criminal trespass, attempted simple kidnapping, simple assault and simple assault.”
