One of former NHL tough guy and hockey broadcaster Paul Bissonnette's attackers denied involvement in the incident when police approached him after the November altercation.
Sean Daly was arrested after officers pursued Bissonnette two miles down the road from where he allegedly assaulted her outside a Houston restaurant in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Nov. 24. , denied knowing anything about what they were talking about.
Bissonnette was hospitalized for the incident, which resulted in the arrest of Henry Mesker, John Carroll, William Carroll, Danny Bradley, Edward Jennings, and Daly.
Body camera footage was released Tuesday. Published by TMZ Police have revealed the moment they tracked Daly down and questioned him on suspicion of assault.
Daley expressed surprise when police approached and detained him as he walked on the sidewalk outside the Caesars Republic Hotel.
“Me?” he asked with a confused look on his face as the officer handcuffed him and told him he was being taken into custody by Mr. Daly.
After Mr. Daley was read his rights, the officers began questioning him about his role in the assault on Mr. Bissonnette, but Mr. Daley was reluctant to answer.
When an officer asked what happened at Houston's home, Daley replied, “I don't know what you're talking about.”
“So you didn't get into a fight with a bunch of other people?” the officer asks.
“No, sir,” Daley replied as Christmas music played in the background.
“Sir, I just want to say that I have no idea what you're talking about,'' he said after further questioning.
Daley claimed to have come from Cake Nightclub, but could not say when he had been there.
When the officer told him there was security video of the altercation, he paused.
“Sir, I just want to go home,” he finally said, breaking the silence.
Daly was indicted by a grand jury last week on one felony count of aggravated assault and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct.
“Sean Daly didn't even have to appear in person in court today. No one else did,” Bissonnette posted on X along with Daly's arrest video. “This is the guy who tried to kick me 50 yards with my brain. Just some stupid cousin of a bitch. He'll get it.”
Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell said in a statement that Daly was charged with “inflicting bodily injury on Paul Bissonnette by engaging in violent and destructive conduct while incapacitated.” said.
Felony charges against Bradley, Mesker and Carroll have been referred to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office, 12News reported.
Bissonnette allegedly got into a scuffle with the men after he intervened to protect restaurant staff after the group allegedly clashed with one of the managers.
The brawl started at the restaurant and ended in the parking lot outside the restaurant.
