Alleged serial arsonist arrested after setting fire next to sleeping NYC straphanger

Authorities said there are suspected of being a serial arsonist who lit many fires during a roughly one-hour blaze of destruction, including next to a subway rider who slept last month.

Skky Ifudu was arrested and charged with a third arson tied to four fires set on January 10th. He charged with a second collar less than a month after booking an arson attempt in late January.

The 33-year-old, who lives in Flushing, first set the flames on an empty NYPD vehicle near City Hall around 2:20am, and then burned another vacant vehicle on Marais Street in early January. It's been criticized.

He then set a paper cup on the fire and threw it into a trash can near the Brooklyn Bridge City Hall metro station, before at about 3:40am at Woodhaven Avenue station. Police alleged he jumped on a nearby northbound J train.

While riding the subway, the masked suspect allegedly torched a small pile of trash just next to Strafanger, who is sleeping on the bench.

Then, 13 days later, he allegedly tried to set the Strafanger backpack on bright paper, according to a criminal charge provided by the Queens District Attorney's Office.

The victim slapped inhudu's hand and tried to leave, but according to the documents, the suspect pointed a knife at him.

In that case, Ihudu was detained and arrested at Queens Court on January 25th, where he was not guilty of arson for the fifth time, second degree threat, fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon, and second degree harassment. I admitted.

He was released on $10,000 cash bail before being arrested again on Monday.

An attempt to contact his lawyer from the January 23rd case failed Tuesday night.
