Alleged Trump shooter had Discord account, company says

The 20-year-old Pennsylvania man identified as the shooter who attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump on Saturday appears to have had an account on the Discord platform, the company said Sunday.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, a Discord spokesperson said accounts believed to be associated with Thomas Matthew Crooks were identified and removed in accordance with the company’s “off-platform behavior policy.”

“The account has been largely inactive and has not been in use for months. We have found no evidence that the account was used to plan this incident, incite violence, or discuss his political views,” the spokesperson said. “Discord strongly condemns violence of any kind, including political violence, and will continue to work closely with law enforcement.”

Investigators have not disclosed a motive for the shooting or whether Crooks had any ties to extremist groups.
