A suspected violent outside agitator arrested at an anti-Israel Columbia University protest is reportedly the privileged heir to a multimillion-dollar advertising empire, according to New York City police.

Dick Tarlow died in 2022 at age 81, leaving behind an estate worth at least $20 million, according to court records.
Tarlow is best known for her work with cosmetics and fashion clients such as Revlon, Ralph Lauren and Neutrogena, according to her obituary in AdAge. He was also a staunch supporter of John Jay College and the John Jay Justice Award, the Long Island newspaper Dunn’s Papers reported.
James Carlson, heir to the family fortune, bought a 2,893-square-foot Park Slope property in Park Slope in 2019 for $2.3 million, with four wood-burning fireplaces and a carriage house, according to real estate records and online listings. He owns a three-story brownstone house.

According to the NYPD, three suspects approached the victim and took the flag. Police said the suspect who stole the flag ran into the crowd, and the victim was hit in the face by a rock thrown by another suspect who tried to chase after him.
Police said a third suspect grabbed a national flag and set it on fire. The victim sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment. Carlson allegedly participated in the assault.
Investigations into the remaining two suspects are ongoing.

Carlson’s 2005 arrest was in connection with the violent “West Coast Anti-Capitalist Mobilization and March Against G8” in San Francisco, where demonstrators injured a police officer, suffered a fractured skull, and destroyed multiple stores. The New York Post reported that the windows of the building were broken.
Carlson and his attorney did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s requests for comment.
