Allen Lazard is now facing a new chapter in his life, both personally and professionally. The wide receiver, who recently became a free agent, has reportedly ended his engagement with Miss Peru 2023, Camila Escubens, after more than a year together.
Last year, Lazard proposed to Escubens in Montauk, a moment that was celebrated by his former team, the New York Jets, among others. According to TMZ Sports, the couple had even sent out wedding invitations before parting ways. They welcomed a daughter in October but have chosen to keep her gender private while also unfollowing each other on social media.
As Lazard looks forward to trying his luck with a third NFL team, it’s interesting to note his journey so far. He started with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but his time there was mostly limited to the practice squad. Fortunately, the Green Bay Packers picked him up, and he quickly became notable for his chemistry with quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Over his 57-game span with the Packers, he amassed 169 receptions, 2,236 yards, and 20 touchdowns.
After Lazard signed with the New York Jets in early 2023, Rodgers followed suit a few weeks later in a trade. However, while Lazard played in 36 games with the Jets, his performance wasn’t as stellar as hoped. In his first two seasons, he managed 60 catches for 841 yards, yet last season saw a decline, with just 10 catches for 70 yards.
Now, as he navigates his free agency status and personal life changes, it’ll be intriguing to see where Lazard lands next in the NFL and how he moves forward.
