During the annual Christian women’s conference, Share the Arrows, on October 10, Allie Beth Stuckey, host of BlazeTV and expecting her fourth child, unveiled a project she and her husband have been developing since early last year: Ana Kate. This app focuses on tracking cycles, pregnancy, and postpartum experiences from a pro-life perspective.
However, the app isn’t merely a conservative alternative to the many existing tracking apps; it aims to address what she sees as the harmful influence of those non-religious apps.
On a recent episode of her show “Relatable,” Allie elaborated on the motivation behind Ana Kate, emphasizing how many leading cycle and pregnancy apps openly advocate for abortion.
Allie recounted a friend’s experience with Natural Cycles, a cycle tracking app. When her friend indicated that her previous pregnancy was “unexpected,” she quickly found herself overwhelmed by “ads for abortion centers on Snapchat.”
“I can’t definitively say if Natural Cycles is sharing that data with organizations such as Planned Parenthood, but I do know that they lean pro-abortion, according to their content,” Allie stated.
She pointed out that the app includes articles urging users to seek abortions at Planned Parenthood facilities.
Another notable app, Flo, according to Allie, claims on their site that access to safe abortion is a key aspect of healthcare.
“But, honestly, abortion isn’t healthcare; it’s the termination of a child’s life,” she remarked.
Ovia is another app with widespread use among women. Allie pointed out that Ovia features an entire section dedicated to abortions in its health resources.
She mentioned articles such as “What is a medical abortion and how to access one” and “Preparing for pregnancy in states with abortion bans and restrictions.”
“Their post-abortion guide describes emotional experiences following the procedure, even suggesting there can be immense relief afterward,” she added.
Even the Euki app, which includes pregnancy tracking, provides resources about abortion.
“They have a built-in search for abortion providers,” Allie stated, contrasting it with Ana Kate, which offers a directory for pro-life practitioners.
Then there’s Clue, another app that took a clear stance against changes to abortion laws.
Allie noted that Clue voiced its vehement opposition to the overturning of Roe v. Wade, claiming that decisions about ending a pregnancy ought to occur within a context of regulated healthcare without fear or shame.
She highlighted that Flo also reacted to the Dobbs decision by introducing an “Anonymous Mode,” permitting users to utilize the app while keeping their identities concealed from their health data.
“They seem to be guarding you against the big bad government, which, frankly, is trying to protect babies in the womb,” Allie remarked.
“This is where Ana Kate diverges,” she clarified.
“Our motto is ‘For women. For life.’ … We support women; we are committed to women. Additionally, we advocate for life. We believe every baby should be cherished and safeguarded, regardless of the conditions around their conception or their developmental stage,” Allie explained.
“We hold firm that all babies are created in God’s image and deserve full protection … and we are proud of that stance.”
