The combined Powerball and Mega Millions jackpot continues to grow and now stands at almost $2 billion.

The estimated $800 million Powerball jackpot and estimated $1.1 billion Mega Millions prize mark the first time two national lottery games have grown in size at the same time.
Powerball said in a statement Sunday that the current jackpot is “rapidly rising up the rankings as one of the game’s largest jackpots.”
It is expected to reach up to $800 million by Monday evening.
Powerball also announced Sunday’s prize is the second advertised jackpot to reach $800 million this year. There was also a lottery where there was no winner for 35 consecutive times.
On the other hand, Mega Millions prize money ranks 5th.th A $2.04 billion Powerball prize was won in November 2022, the largest in U.S. lottery history and about half the size of the largest jackpot.
“There is always an atmosphere of excitement across the country when the Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots rise simultaneously,” said Gretchen Corbin, president of the Georgia Lottery Corporation and principal director of the Mega Millions Consortium.
The odds of matching all six numbers are 1 in 302.6 million, while Powerball’s odds are slightly better at 1 in 292.2 million.
However, millions of people have won small prizes ranging from $2 to $2 million, and players of both games have about a 1 in 4 chance of winning any prize.
As for the Mega Millions, the drawing is scheduled for next Tuesday, with a jackpot cash value of approximately $525.8 million.
