Alyssa Milano Facing Backlash for Requesting Donations to Her Son’s Baseball Team: ‘Ain’t You a Millionaire?’

Actress Alyssa Milano sparks backlash on social media after asking for donations to her son's baseball team, with people criticizing it as inappropriate for a billionaire celebrity to use her platform in such a way did.

“My son's baseball team is raising money for a trip to Cooperstown. Any amount is welcome. You can read more about the team or donate here,” Milano wrote on X he said while sharing a link to the GoFundMe.

As of this article's publication, her GoFundMe effort has raised more than 7,000 donations, with a pledge to use the funds toward the team's travel expenses.

Milano disabled comments on her posts and only allowed quote sharing. Although she had her defenders, including conservatives, she found herself at the center of a firestorm.

“They say Alyssa is worth $10 million. And I understand that because last summer I traveled to three tournaments in three different cities in three different states. It's very expensive. But given her worth and the fact that her husband is a CAA agent, asking for donations here is really great,” said FOX News contributor Joe Concha. .

“Your husband has a net worth of $5 million and he's begging for money on the internet so his son can go on vacation?” one user said.

“Americans can’t afford groceries, yet she’s worth millions and wants others to donate to *her* child’s baseball team.” ” said another.

Milan were not without defenders. Most notable was conservative commentator Kira Davis, who felt people were taking it too far.

“Leave her alone. It's not her job to fund every activity at the school. Milano is a celebrity with a lot of influence. I'm sure her fellow parents have asked for a boost though. , why shouldn't we? That's helpful,'' Davis said.

“Ask her for her opinion, fine. But don't criticize her for sharing a simple fundraiser. What does she and her husband fund that school?” I don't know. It would also be valuable to have the rest of the team participate in the fundraiser. Why does everyone have to be such an asshole about everything all the time? Why does everything require sarcasm and envy? Not,” she added.
