Alyssa Milano has denied claims that she got her former co-star Shannen Doherty fired from the hit show Charmed.
The 51-year-old actress goes silent on social media after Doherty and Holly Marie Combs, who also starred in the fantasy drama series, claimed Milano was behind the “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum’s sudden exit from “Charmed” broke. Third season in 2001.
During a panel discussion at MegaCon in Orlando, Florida, on Friday, Milano addressed her co-star’s claims but did not specifically address Doherty’s departure. Milano elaborated on her comments in an Instagram post she shared on Saturday, saying she “didn’t have the authority to fire anyone.”

Appearing on Doherty’s “Let’s Be Clear” podcast in December, Combs recalled a conversation he claims he had with one of the show’s producers after his “Charmed” co-star was fired.
“He said, ‘I didn’t mean to do that, but I got cornered. We’re basically on one side or the other. That’s what we were told.’ [by Alyssa] it’s her, or [Shannen]Alyssa then threatened to sue us for a hostile work environment,” Combs recalled.

Milano wrote in an Instagram post on Saturday that everything that was happening behind the scenes at the time regarding this situation has been documented.

“We had a professional mediator (Holly and Shanann were told they would not participate in any mediation) and an on-site producer and babysitter, both of whom were brought in to investigate all allegations,” Milano said. I reminisced.
“Then, after gathering testimony from cast and crew, this arbitrator recommended what changes should be made if the show were to continue,” she added. “The studio, Aaron Spelling, and the network have made the decision to protect this captivating global hit.
“I didn’t have the power to fire anyone. After Shanann left, we had five more successful seasons, and I’m forever grateful.”

Milano, Doherty and Combs were the original stars of Charmed, which debuted on The WB in 1998 and was executive produced by Aaron Spelling, playing a trio of sisters who discover they are the most powerful witches of all time. .
During the Season 3 finale of Charmed in 2001, Prue Halliwell, played by Doherty, was murdered. Prue was later replaced by: Ms Rose McGowan The character, Paige Matthews, was the long-lost half-sister of the original trio.

In 2020, McGowan claimed Milano engaged in “toxic” behavior on the set of Charmed.
In a heated exchange with Milano on X (formerly Twitter), McGowan wrote, “You made 250,000 a week on ‘Charmed.’ You’re not paying me enough to do this job,” he yelled.”
At the time, a representative for Milano told People magazine: “Hurting people hurts people. Commenting further is not consistent with my health plan.”

In his remarks at MegaCon, Milano said he was referring to Doherty and Combs’ podcast discussion and McGowan’s past comments.
Milano ended her Instagram post by thanking her Charmed fans and congratulating her former co-stars.

“Thank you to the fans who have had to deal with the disruption and just love the show and can’t experience it for themselves,” Milano wrote.
