Amazon Scraps ‘Who’s the Boss?’ Sequel Series Starring Alyssa Milano

Oct. 5 (UPI) — Amazon Freevee has reportedly pulled its plans for “Who's the Boss?” A sequel series featuring original show stars Tony Danza and Alyssa Milano.

The news was reported Friday by The Hollywood Reporter, Deadline and TV Line.

The reason for the streaming service's decision was not disclosed.

The show, which co-starred Judith Light and Danny Pintauro, originally aired for eight seasons on ABC from 1984 to 1992.

Tony (Danza), the widowed father of young Samantha (Milano), leaves his Brooklyn neighborhood for upscale Connecticut as a housekeeper and nanny for Angela, a straight-laced advertising executive and single mother of Jonathan (Pinauro). Draw a picture of working.

Danza and Milano were set to reprise their characters, and Mike Royce, who served as co-showrunner on the recent One Day at a Time revival, was to write and executive produce.

Danza and Milano have remained close over the years, and Danza even attended Milano's recent Broadway show, Chicago.

I was so proud to see @Alyssa_Milano play Roxy in @ChicagoMusical on Broadway! I really enjoyed the show! Everyone inside is wonderful. Congratulations to Alyssa and the entire production! pic.twitter.com/HI1pT9jtpR — Tony Danza (@TonyDanza) September 29, 2024
