Ambassador Monica Crowley shared with Breitbart News during a Wednesday event that reconnecting with God is vital for the U.S. to return to its foundational principles, emphasizing her role in guiding the historic world at the freedom 250 Half Year Celebration.
The first significant event in honor of America’s 250th anniversary, called “Liddicate 250,” is set for May 17th on the National Mall. It has been characterized as a “national jubilee year of prayer, praise, and thanksgiving” and will bring together faith and political leaders to express gratitude for divine guidance and recommit to faith for the future. As we anticipate the next 250 years, Crowley highlighted the necessity of focusing on God and recognizing His influence in the country.
“President Trump’s primary goal is to realign America with its core values of personal and economic freedom, and self-governance, returning power to the citizens. That’s the essence of ‘Make America Great Again,'” she noted. “We truly need God’s assistance to restore our nation to these fundamental principles.”
“Our Founding Fathers referenced God in numerous documents and letters, understanding that their achievements in establishing this remarkable nation were only possible through divine support,” she remarked, stressing that America must acknowledge its reliance on God to progress.
“Fast forward 250 years, and we find ourselves reclaiming our republic, absolutely dependent on Him. That’s why we decided to host a national prayer event on the National Mall as the kickoff for a series of celebratory activities,” she explained while discussing Rededicate 250.
“This is genuinely a national observance of prayer, faith, repentance, redemption, and appreciation for the blessings bestowed upon us over the past 250 years. It’s about renewing our personal faith in God and uniting as one nation under Him,” she added.
There have been moments, she added, when the nation strayed in denying belief in God, particularly with the rise of modern progressivism pushing towards a more secular society.
“We are aiming to steer the country back to its spiritual roots,” she said, pointing out that the Founding Fathers, notably George Washington, openly expressed their reliance on God in their correspondence.
“They understood their mission had divine favor,” she stated.
Crowley further expressed, “Our intention with this event is to foster a robust celebration of faith and restoration, guiding America back to God.”
