Americans like to eat where they sleep

Many Americans don’t have to go far to sleep after eating a midnight snack.

Almost 44% of adults who snack late at night do it in bed, while 58% of 18-24 year olds who snack late at night prefer to eat in the bag.

That’s according to a survey of 1,000 Americans commissioned by Kelanova (formerly Kellogg’s), the maker of Pringles, Rice Krispie treats, and Pop-Tarts.

“We’re not at all surprised that 30% of people snack late at night, but we were surprised to find out where they’re doing it: in their bedrooms.” Kellanova said Amjad Malik, vice president of insights and analytics for the company.

Lexi Mixon, a 25-year-old beauty spokeswoman, told the Post that she has been eating in bed since she was a child. She does this because she loves being comfortable and having a happy place.

She and her boyfriend are enjoying a date night while eating sushi and pasta in bed.

“My friend even gave me a gorgeous tray for my birthday so my 59-year-old mother could nod off in bed and watch her favorite ‘Sex and the City’ while eating in bed,” Mixon said. Ta.

“I’ve been eating in bed all my life,” said her mother, Tracy Mixon. “I learned that from her mother. It’s a generational thing.”

Emma Eby, 23, has been eating in bed since high school. Back then, she was more of a snacker, but when she went to college, she increased the amount of food she ate.

“I always felt safe in my room, it was my spiritual home and a place where I could relax,” the financial analyst said. “In a shared apartment, eating in the living room or dining space can be stressful, as you often have to communicate while eating. I enjoy my room and bed. …I can relax and watch TV on my laptop in peace.”

Eby dismissed those who declared the practice terrible.

“I don’t spill anything. I have a little lap desk where I eat sometimes, and I clean the sheets frequently. If there’s a crumb left, I brush it off,” she says, adding, “I go to bed. I think it’s less uncomfortable than not taking a shower before!”

Mixon added, “Don’t knock it ’til you try it.”
