For the third consecutive month, Americans say immigration is the “most important issue” facing the United States, according to a Gallup poll.
In a Gallup poll, released On Tuesday, 27% of Americans said immigration was the biggest issue facing the United States, followed by government, the economy and inflation. This is the third month in a row that immigration has been cited as the top issue among Americans, and the first time in 24 years.
As expected, six months before the 2024 presidential election, Republicans and floating voters are much more likely than Democrats to say immigration is the most important issue.
Almost 50% of Republicans and 25% of voters list immigration as their top concern, compared to just 8% of Democrats who say the same.
Since President Joe Biden took office in late January 2021, almost 8 million Migrants are being encountered along the U.S.-Mexico border, marking the highest level of illegal immigration in U.S. history.
Similarly, during the same period, nearly 2 million known fugitives are expected to have successfully crossed the southern border into the United States, although federal officials have routinely said that the number of fugitives is perhaps 20. It said it was a percentage underestimate, suggesting there may be more escapees. 360,000 fugitives may have crossed the border.

Mass immigration under the Biden administration is expanding far beyond the southern border.
Currently, nearly 1.2 million foreign nationals are eligible for Temporary Protected Status (TPS). This is a quasi-amnesty program that allows people who are ineligible to remain in the United States because of humanitarian or environmental concerns in their home countries.
These influxes, combined with legal immigration levels where more than 1 million people are granted green cards and an additional 1 million on temporary work visas each year, mean that the country’s foreign-born population now stands at an unprecedented 51.4 million people. has reached.
In 1990, the foreign-born population of the United States was less than 20 million.
Without lowering legal immigration levels, which are the driving force behind nearly all population growth, the total U.S. population is expected to reach nearly 400 million by 2060.
