Americans Who Think Country on the Right Track Under Trump ‘Through the Roof’

CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten said on Tuesday in CNN's “news-centric” that the percentage of Americans who believe the country is on the right track is “through the roof” of President Donald Trump's second term.

Enten said, “What we're talking about is how unpopular Donald Trump's popularity is. But in reality, he's basically more popular than any point in Term 1, and more popular than when he won the election in November 2024. If you compare Trump to yourself, he's actually something he's close to the bottom of the trough.

He said, “The bottom line is the percentage of Americans who say we're on the right track. And if you compare it to when the president was historically re-elected, of course Trump is not eligible to run for re-election, but I think I'm putting that in perspective – 42% say that when the country is running around again when the country is inverted. [then-Vice President] Kamala Harris was defeated and the Democrats were in power, but only about 27-28% of the country said the country was on the right track. ”
