2026 Winter Olympics: American Athletes Shine in Women’s Freestyle Ski Moguls
On Wednesday, American competitors made waves in the women’s freestyle skiing moguls at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Elizabeth Lemley, who was participating in her first Olympics, secured the gold medal with a score of 82.30. Shortly after, her fellow teammate, Jaelyn Kauf, earned the silver with a score of 80.77.
Lemley improved her performance in the final run, having initially scored 79.02 points. With her final attempt, she jumped to the top of the podium. Kauf began her competition strong in the first run, maintaining her position through the second run to claim her medal.
At just 20 years old and hailing from Colorado, Lemley previously won gold medals in both dual moguls and team moguls at the 2024 Youth Olympics. Unfortunately, she’ll be sidelined for the 2024-25 Freestyle Skiing World Cup due to an injury. Despite this setback, she now holds the title of Olympic champion.
Kauf has also made a mark, previously winning a silver medal in women’s moguls in the 2022 Beijing Games and gold in dual moguls at the 2025 World Championships.
France’s Perrine Lafont clinched the bronze medal, achieving a score of 78.00. Meanwhile, Australia’s Jakara Anthony, who was in the lead during the first round, unfortunately fell to eighth place in the second round.
As of now, American athletes have captured three medals in the day’s events, reflecting a strong showing at these Olympics.
Additionally, Olympian Ryan Cochran-Siegle added to the medal count by winning silver in the men’s super-G on the same day.
