“America’s Got Talent” judge Howie Mandel is opening up about what happened after his wife Terri was left bloody after a fall in Las Vegas.

The 68-year-old TV personality previously detailed how his wife of 40 years found him lying in a pool of blood after a fall in their hotel room following a “drunken” night out in Sin City. TMZ LiveMandel revealed the truth about whether mind-altering substances were the cause of his wife’s accident at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas.

“First of all, she was not drunk,” he said. “She is very concerned about people interfering with her alcohol problem. She does not have an alcohol problem. Let’s be real. She ate some gummy bears.”

“She was taking gummies,” Mandel emphasized, “so it wasn’t about alcohol. She was taking marijuana.”

The former Deal or No Deal presenter explained that when he previously spoke about Terry’s fall, people jumped to conclusions.

“I said it was a great night and I was a little drunk,” Mandel recalled.

While being “tipsy” was thought to refer to the state of having consumed too much alcohol, Terry’s intoxication was actually food-induced.

While speaking with TMZ LIVE hosts Harvey Levin and Charles Latibaudiere, Mandel recounted the horrifying incident.

“My daughter got out of bed in the middle of the night and fell,” he said. “It was really scary. I put her in bed and tried to give her ice, but I didn’t have any so I put a soda can on her head.”

But Mandel said Terry didn’t accept his efforts at the time and began hurling soda cans away from her head.

“She threw the can across the room, and I went to get another can of soda because I didn’t realize it was cut so badly,” he said, “and then she threw it across the room.”

When Mandel saw Terri’s exposed skull, he realized the severity of her injuries.

“Finally I saw the bones,” he said. “I saw the bones.”

“So I called the front desk and I said, ‘We need to call 911,’ and they said, ‘What happened?’ and I said, ‘We don’t know. We don’t know, but there’s blood everywhere.’ And they said, ‘We’ll send security. Security has been sent. My wife is lying in bed. There’s blood everywhere. There are Coke cans all over the room.'”

Mandel told the outlet that hotel security officers witnessed the incident and initially suspected him of domestic violence.

“They pushed me against the TV,” he recalled. “My wife was all bloody on the bed. There were cans being thrown across the room.”

Mandel explained that he was disappointed that Terry had inadvertently fuelled suspicion.

“They threw me out of the room and asked her, ‘What happened?’ She kept saying, ‘I don’t know.’ I said, ‘Don’t tell me you don’t know!'”

The Canadian native said security guards asked him why there were soda cans scattered around the room.

“She says, ‘He tried to put it over my head,'” Mandel said. “No, no, no!”

“It just got worse and worse,” he continued, “and then she realised what was going to happen and started laughing. I didn’t realise it was going to be like that either, until they were questioning her in another room and they said, ‘Her head is open, we’re worried, put her on a stretcher and take her away.'”

Mandel and Terry were ultimately able to resolve the matter, but Mandel said that didn’t stop Terry, who Mandel described as having a “great sense of humor,” from teasing him about the allegations after he returned from the hospital.

“When we got back to the hotel, she had the door open,” Mandel recalled. “As I was going back in, another couple came out and were going out to breakfast, and she said, ‘Howie, I’m going to be a good boy.'”

“No, that’s not funny! That’s not funny,” Mandel said.

“I think the lesson here is, if you’re doing what everybody’s doing, especially in Las Vegas, drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes, taking gummies, you’re going to think you can get up in the middle of the night and walk across the room without turning on the light. No, turn on the light,” Latibaudiere said.

“Well, I think what this shows is that marriage isn’t easy,” Mandel said, as Levin and Latibaudiere laughed.

Mandel said Monday,“Live with Kelly and Mark.”

The comedian assured the hosts that Terry was on the road to recovery. “She’s absolutely perfect,” he said. “No scars. She’s beautiful.”
