saturday night live star Ana Gasteyer recalled her on-set experience in 1998 when Sean “Diddy” Combs was the musical guest, and she didn't have very flattering things to say.
While appearing in Las Culturistas On the podcast, Gasteyer revealed that Diddy requested a “completely closed set” during rehearsals, which she said is usually reserved for “presidential candidates.”
“Of course he shut down the whole building. In six years, there were five assholes I was there saying things like, 'So-and-so is in the building, everyone stay in the locker room!' “You can see that,” Gasteyer recalled. “This is true when you're a presidential candidate. But other than that, this is really my home. He called for a completely closed set.”
She also revealed that she convinced Will Ferrell to play a little prank on the rapper during rehearsals, despite his requests. Ferrell walked around the stage wearing the costume of the film's character, Ron. SNL's “Mango” sketch.
“They said, 'Wouldn't it be fun if Ron just went in?'” she said. “And he did. He continued down the stairs and quickly went inside.”
She continued, “There's a control room video where Sean Combs is rapping and Ron is walking around in the background looking really confused.”
This episode took place in 1998, but Diddy later returned to the show in 2010 when Robert De Niro hosted it.

Gasteyer added: “This is the biggest thing that's ever happened because what a natural person to let Ron interrupt their 'Kashmir' moment.” And he didn't really buy into it. He looked very uncomfortable. ”
