Federal and international authorities had said newly emerged evidence showed no blood was found in the Spanish apartment, but then appeared to backtrack. A Florida woman goes missing.

According to Miami HeraldLawyers for her husband, David Knezevich, are fighting the prosecution’s case, arguing that no forensic evidence was found at the scene.
“There was no blood, no struggle, no signs of foul play,” said Jane Weintraub, Knezevich’s lead attorney. “The defendant is in custody in a U.S. court for an incident that occurred in Spain, if it occurred in Spain.”

At a recent hearing, Magistrate Edwin Torres noted that no bloodstains were found in the Madrid apartment and called the evidence “questionable.”
“I agree that some of their evidence is questionable,” Torres said.
Torres also pointed to earlier evidence showing Knezevic had purchased duct tape and spray paint at a nearby hardware store.
“Doesn’t that make their case stronger?” Torres said.

Anna and David co-owned an IT company in South Florida and also had interests in real estate.
Rameau previously told Fox News Digital in a phone interview that the couple were a “successful couple” who had been married for 13 years before deciding to separate last summer.
“Obviously it was difficult for her, so she started spending more time in Europe, in Madrid, where she had old friends,” Rameau said.

Rameau received a strange text message from Anna on Feb. 3, the day after her friend suspected she had been taken against her will.
“I met a wonderful person!,” the WhatsApp message read. “He has a villa just two metres away. [hours] From Madrid. I’m on my way there now. I’ll be there for a few days. The signal is spotty. I’ll call you when I get back.”
A second message to Rameau read, “Yesterday after therapy I wanted to go for a walk and he came up to me on the street! It was an amazing connection. A connection like I’ve never felt before.”

Knezevic was arrested by FBI agents at Miami International Airport in early May while returning home from Serbia, where his mother lives.

He has been held at a federal detention center in Miami since his arrest.
