Andre Agassi enjoying pickleball after his professional debut

New Jersey Pickle Ball Club Helps Singles Find Love

The co-founders of Montclair Pickleball, Aaron Reznick and Matt Slowinski, believe that pickleball is a great setting for singles to connect. They recently shared their thoughts on this during an appearance on “Fox & Friends.”

In another recent sporting event, tennis legend Andre Agassi made his professional pickleball debut at the US Open Pickleball Championship. Partnering with the top female player, 18-year-old Annally Waters, Agassi won his first match but lost in the second round. After playing casually for some time, it seems he’s developed quite the enthusiasm for the sport.

Agassi expressed excitement about pickleball’s rapid growth. He noted that it brings people from diverse backgrounds together—breaking down barriers of age, gender, and culture. He commented on how it encourages individuals to step out of their comfort zones.

Additionally, Agassi is featured in a Netflix documentary titled “Dreambreaker: Pickleball Story,” which has also sparked interest in the sport, especially among those like Ashley Underwood, who transitioned from tennis to pickleball.

As Agassi continues to adapt to the nuances of pickleball, he acknowledged the challenges it presents. “It’s quite difficult,” he remarked. “The players are very skilled, and there’s hardly any margin for error.” Despite his iconic tennis background, he’s still navigating this new arena.

Interestingly, participation in pickleball has surged, with nearly 20 million players recorded in 2024—a staggering 311% increase since 2011.
