Tate Brothers Indicted in Romania
Andrew and Tristan Tate have been indicted on various charges in Romania, according to reports.
TMZ shared that the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism in Romania confirmed the indictment. This stems from an investigation involving two British men from the same family, identified as the Tate brothers, aged 39 and 38.
Andrew faces serious allegations, including trafficking minors, money laundering, engaging in sexual activities with a minor, and witness tampering. Meanwhile, Tristan is reportedly facing charges of complicity.
Prosecutors have claimed that the brothers lured victims by suggesting they were seeking relationships, only to later pressure them into creating pornographic material for their webcam business. One alleged victim recounted how Andrew brought her from the UK to Romania when she was just 15, coercing her into producing content, while Tristan reportedly used physical intimidation.
The prosecution also asserted that the Tates made over $1 million from the content involving the underage victim and allegedly tried to launder their earnings through the acquisition of four luxury cars.
Currently, the Tates remain in the United States, contesting extradition to the UK. Nonetheless, they could face trial in absentia in Romania if approved by a judge.
Eugen Vidineac, the attorney for the Tate brothers, stated that they will scrutinize every detail of the indictment and challenge any flaws through the judicial system.
Notably, Andrew Tate is confronting more than 50 charges in the UK, while Tristan is facing around 20 charges.
