Comedian and podcast host Andrew Schultz has criticized Kamala Harris’s campaign for not reaching out to him during last Saturday’s elections. He expressed his thoughts during a conversation with the New York Times Podcast, mentioning attempts to engage with other Democrats like Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz and former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg on his “Flagrant” podcast throughout the 2024 election cycle.
Schultz argued that not only did Democrats overlook him, but they also labeled his team as the “Podcast Brothers,” accusing them of being “sexist, prejudiced, and racist.” He attempted to arrange an interview with Vice President Harris but claims her campaign “blatantly lied” about making contact.
“It’s crazy that I reached out, and they’re just lying about it. Charlamagne has also been in touch with them,” Schultz said. “Then it gets written up saying, ‘Andrew says he reached out, but we spoke to Kamala’s team, and nothing happened.’ It’s confusing for the readers, honestly.” He added that he feels this casts him in a negative light, almost as if he’s being called a liar.
In response to Schultz’s claims, Fox News Digital sought comments from Harris’ campaign, Charlamagne, and Mark Cuban. Schultz did acknowledge speaking with progressive leaders, including Buttigieg and Bernie Sanders, but sensed that Democrats didn’t feel it necessary to engage with platforms like his podcast to connect with voters.
Earlier in the campaign season, Schultz interviewed Donald Trump. Post-interview, he noted that Trump seemed to believe he had a considerable chance of winning back the presidency after a successful campaign.
On the podcast, Schultz identified himself as a lifelong Democrat who had voted for Trump. He explained, “My vote was a response to a political environment that felt like it was sidelining constituents. I didn’t like the direction we were heading, and Kamala’s stance seemed to confirm that we were going to keep heading down that path.”
