Andy Cohen Calls Out Immigration Officials
Andy Cohen made an uncommon political remark during Monday night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live.
He concluded the show by condemning federal immigration agents for the “execution” of an American citizen and accused the Trump administration of “lying” about the incident following the fatal shooting of ICU nurse Alex Preti over the weekend.
“I want to discuss the terrible events occurring in Minneapolis,” Cohen stated. “On Saturday, just three weeks after the tragic death of unarmed Renee Goode, 37-year-old ICU nurse Alex Preti was shot by ICE agents in broad daylight while using her iPhone to exercise her right to protest.”
He mentioned, “He had a firearms permit and was holding an undrawn firearm while ICE officers shot at least 10 times at him as he lay on the ground.”
A witness’s video captures ICE agents violently tackling the woman. Preti, who was recording the scene, stepped in to help her but was pepper-sprayed and forced to the ground. It was initially perceived that the gun he legally carried was involved, but Cohen noted it was shown he was actually holding an iPhone. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem claimed Preti was “brandishing” the weapon with harmful intent.
Cohen continued, “I’ve seen a lot of gaslighting. Dear housewives, It’s entertaining, but we need to trust what we see with our own eyes. Our government is allowing anonymous agents to execute its own citizens and then lying about it. If these are indeed paid protesters, then let’s see the evidence. Just one piece of proof would suffice.”
“This isn’t a matter of left versus right. It’s not about immigration reform that the country needs,” Cohen added. “We must collectively decide whether we want to live in a nation where our government kills its citizens, and tells us not to believe what we witness. This isn’t the America I believe in, nor is it one any of us desire. Please stay safe out there. We love you, Minneapolis.”
Watch What Happens Live airs Sundays through Thursdays at 10 PM ET on Bravo, with new episodes available for streaming on Peacock the following day.
