Andy Cohen Discusses Karen Huger’s Return to RHOP After Prison Release

Andy Cohen recently shared details about his interview with Karen Huger and her comeback on “The Real Housewives of Potomac” following her release from prison.

The sit-down took place just a few days post-release, Cohen revealed to Page Six’s Eval Leal and Danny Murphy during BravoCon. He mentioned, “I snuck into Potomac in the middle of the night after ‘Watch What Happens Live’ and then slipped right out.”

A short video snippet of their conversation was showcased in a midseason teaser that debuted at BravoCon.

Cohen expressed he learned a lot from Huger. “I heard things from Karen that I had never heard before,” he reflected.

He acknowledged Huger’s struggles, saying, “Here you are, you’re a free woman,” referring to her recent six-month prison sentence for drunk driving. Huger, who was released from Montgomery County Jail in September, responded, “It’s time to talk about my addiction.”

He described the conversation as “very emotional” and noted that he was impressed by the depth of their discussion. “I was very touched by the whole conversation,” he mentioned, expressing anticipation for the audience’s reaction when it airs during the season 10 finale.

Huger’s co-stars were also supportive, with Gisele Bryant stating, “I just want Karen to be her best self, and I’m here to be on the journey with her.” She added, “I think Karen is a great person, so if she can get past this monkey, then we’ll be fine.”

Ashley Darby commended Huger for her openness, saying, “It’s incredible for her to confess on her own.” Meanwhile, Monique Samuels noted the absence of the real Karen in previous episodes, suggesting that the new version of Huger may shine through genuine authenticity.

Kiaruna Stewart expressed her excitement for Huger’s return and the opportunity to connect with her. “I feel like what was missing this season was her,” Angel Massey remarked.

Huger had faced legal troubles, being convicted of drunk driving in December 2024 after a high-speed accident involving her Maserati. Footage from the incident showcased her inebriated state, prompting self-reflection. “I didn’t recognize that woman,” Huger admitted, explaining the difficulty in facing the reality of her situation.

Having served her sentence, she was released last September, ready to share her journey with her fans and fellow cast members.
